From China Electric Power News: Yuanda Engineering has Successfully Applied Two Super-cleaning Emission Technologies

On June 27, 2014, National Energy Administration issued The Notice on Coal-fired Unit Environmental-protection Retrofit Demonstration Projects 2014, indicating a list of coal-fired unit environmental-protection retrofit demonstration projects in 2014. The list covers 13 in-service coal-fired units located in 7 provinces or municipalities, i.e. Tianjin, Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Guangdong, including 1×1030MW unit, 4×1000MW units, 4×600MW units, 3×350MW units and 1×330MW unit. According to The Notice, in principle, the above mentioned 13 projects shall complete retrofit before the end of 2014.
Innovation Technologies Support Projects Retrofit.
At the end of 2014, Shangdian Caojing Power Generation Company 1000MW super-cleaning emission FGD expansion and retrofit project, contracted by Yuanda Engineering, was put into operation successfully.
Applying Yuanda Engineering’s proprietary technology and several technical innovations, Caojing project is one of the first batch of NOx, SO2 and dust super-cleaning emission demonstration projects designated by National Energy Administration and also the first demonstration project under CPI adopting the new technology.
On December 31, 2014, Huaneng Nanjing Jinling Power Plant 2×1030MW units super-cleaning emission project, contracted by Yuanda Engineering, passed 168h test running.
Jinling project is one of the first batch of SO2 and dust super-cleaning emission demonstration projects designated by National Energy Administration and Huaneng Power Group, and also the largest and first 1030MW super-cleaning emission project currently in China put into operation. The project provides an example for retrofit projects of the same class on timescale, quality and safety in Huaneng Group or even whole China, and also sets a benchmark for domestic large unit super-cleaning emission projects.
Yuanda Engineering is the first environmental-protection company in China possessing two super-cleaning emission technologies simultaneously. Moreover, Yuanda Engineering constructs the demonstration projects with good reputation in the industry.
Testify Competence with actual Data.
According to actual operation data, performance of Shangdian Caojing Power Generation Company 1000MW super-cleaning emission FGD expansion and retrofit project is in good condition. SO2 concentration is 1019 mg/Nm3 at absorber inlet and 12.23 mg/Nm3 at absorber outlet. FGD efficiency is 98.799%. Dust concentration is 23.96 mg/Nm3 at absorber inlet and 3.04 mg/Nm3 at absorber outlet. Absorber dust removal efficiency is 87.3%. SO2 and dust emission value is lower than gas turbine emission standard required by Ministry of Environmental Protection, which is close to zero emission.
Currently Huaneng Nanjing Jinling Power Plant 2×1030MW units super-cleaning emission project is under full-load test running. The result of test running indicates, SO2 concentration and dust concentration at FGD inlet is 2200 mg/Nm3 and 25 mg/Nm3 respectively, while SO2 concentration and dust concentration at stack outlet is 25 mg/Nm3 and 2.4 mg/Nm3, fulfilling the requirements of super-cleaning emission. Dust removal efficiency of wet FGD system in this project is above 80%.
Besides above two projects, as the first 660MW unit multi-pollution integrated control project in China, Chongqing Hechuan Power Plant 2×660MW units multi-pollution integrated control project, contracted by Yuanda Engineering, has been put into operation. According to test result of Northeast Electric Power Scientific Institute, SO2 concentration is 2000 mg/Nm3 and dust concentration is 28 mg/Nm3 at FGD inlet; NOx concentration is 45.5 mg/Nm3, SO2 concentration is 14.4 mg/Nm3 and dust concentration is 7.99 mg/Nm3 at stack outlet, which fulfilling the requirements of super-cleaning emission. The technology and application project are selected into Environmental Protection Technology List Promoted by the States 2014 (industrial flue gas treatment).
The first absorber integrity displacement project, Inner Mongolia Energy Power Generation Investment Group Co., Ltd. Wusitai Thermal Power Plant (2×300MW) absorber integrity displacement retrofit project was completed successfully. During its FGD retrofit, the newly-built #2 absorber was moved from interim foundation position to designed permanent foundation position. Total displacement distance is 34m.
CPI Group plate-type wet electrostatic precipitator (WESP) scientific demonstration project, Tongliao Thermal Power Plant Unit 6-9 WESP project, co-contracted by Yuanda Engineering and CPI Science and Technology Research Institute Co., Ltd., passed 168h test running. Each system is under normal operation. WESP outlet dust concentration is about 5mg/Nm3 for Unit 8-9 and 10 mg/Nm3 for Unit 6-7. Waste water discharged for recycling in FGD facility is 4 ton per hour and consumption of 30%NaOH solution is 9.8kg per hour, which fulfills the requirements of performance index.
